Kyiv water outages return: utility update for November 5
Water returned to Kyiv’s left bank after emergency power outages, but pressure remained low on the right bank, the utility said.
Water supplies were disrupted across all districts of Kyiv on November 5, 2026, after emergency power outages at Kyivvodokanal facilities. In an update at 16:26, the utility said supplies had been restored on the capital’s left bank. Water pressure remained low on the right bank.

The utility published its initial outage notice at 13:42. Its specialists were working with electricity workers to restore service. In the subsequent update, Kyivvodokanal said it was continuing to stabilise pressure and restore full supplies across all districts. The sewer system was operating normally, it said.
Restoring electricity does not bring water back immediately: the utility explained that restarting equipment, filling the network and reaching standard pressure take time. Its statement did not give a precise deadline for completing that work.

This was a new episode of disruption. At 13:50 on November 4, Kyivvodokanal had announced the full restoration of water supplies and standard pressure after outages caused by Russian attacks on energy infrastructure. The November 4 statement does not describe the network’s condition following the new power outages on November 5.
Ukrinform later reported that Volodymyr Zelensky had criticised Kyivvodokanal’s management in an interview with TSN. The president said managers needed to work harder and faster and raised the possibility of replacing them. This was the president’s assessment, not an announcement of a completed personnel decision.

Kyivvodokanal reminded residents needing drinking water about the city’s network of public water-pump facilities. It directed residents to the Kyivvodfond municipal enterprise’s website to locate the nearest facilities. The water utility’s emergency numbers are 15-81 and (044) 200-73-73.
