Kushner says US is working on security architecture for lasting peace
Kushner says the talks aim not only to stop the war but to prevent renewed fighting. Zelenskyy has announced preparations for a trilateral meeting.
Jared Kushner said he is working with all parties, at US President Donald Trump’s direction, on a pathway to lasting peace in Ukraine. In a post on X, he stressed that the aim is not only to end the war but also to establish a broader security architecture to prevent fighting from resuming.

Kushner framed this as a goal of diplomatic efforts, rather than an announcement of guarantees already agreed. The specific mechanisms of that architecture, participants’ obligations and implementation timetable were not disclosed in the accessible portion of his statement.

The statement followed a conversation between Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Steve Witkoff and Kushner. On the evening of November 4, 2026, Ukraine’s president said the discussion lasted an hour and a half. He said teams from Ukraine, the United States and Russia were preparing for a trilateral format in less than a week. Ukraine had already submitted its proposals to the US side.
Zelenskyy also reported that a meeting on postwar reconstruction had taken place in Brussels on November 4. According to him, participants included representatives of Ukraine, the United States, the EU, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, NATO, the World Bank and international business. He announced a separate meeting on Ukraine’s security guarantees in Brussels for the following day, November 5.

Zelenskyy identified air defence and the need for Patriot interceptors among the issues discussed with the US side. He called for the most intensive possible pace of negotiations to end the war as soon as possible, and stressed that postwar security guarantees must be genuinely reliable.
