Madyar reports downing of drone carrying leaflets toward Kyiv

Robert Brovdi said a Russian drone was shot down near the Raroh brigade’s positions on November 4. It carried propaganda materials as well as a warhead.

A Russian drone carrying propaganda leaflets toward Kyiv was shot down over Ukraine on the evening of November 4, 2026, according to Robert Brovdi, known as Madyar, commander of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces. He reported the incident on his Telegram channel.

He said the aircraft was downed near the combat positions of the 427th Separate Unmanned Systems Brigade, Raroh. Alongside a warhead, it carried a bundle of leaflets. Brovdi called it a ‘Shahed agitator’ but did not specify the interception site: his account describes a flight toward Kyiv, not a confirmed downing directly over the capital.

His published photographs show two types of material. One leaflet addresses Kyiv residents and asks them to choose a name for an ‘Ukrainian volunteer brigade’ supposedly formed within the Russian army. Another carries a slogan against ‘abuses by military recruitment centres’ and a QR-code link to ‘instructions’. The claim that the brigade has been formed is propaganda content, not an established fact.

Brovdi described the cargo as part of a Russian information and psychological operation. He also warned that following the QR code was highly likely to lead to a trap intended to steal data or infect a smartphone. This is the commander’s risk assessment: his post provides no technical findings from an analysis of the link or malware.

Brovdi said the QR codes in the photographs were deliberately blurred for safety. He urged anyone who finds a similar leaflet not to scan its code.
