Kyiv to receive 10 generators for water utility, communities 21 more
The government announced backup equipment for Kyiv and 12 communities in the regions. The generators are funded from the reserve fund.
Ukraine’s government will provide Kyiv with 10 additional generators for its water utility and another 21 generators to 12 communities in the regions. The Government Portal announced this on November 5, 2026, citing Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi.

The equipment is intended to provide backup electricity. Explaining the need for the transfer, the prime minister stressed that Russian attacks on the power system should not leave people without water every time. He described providing water utilities and wastewater systems with backup power sources as critically important.

According to the Cabinet of Ministers, the generators are funded from the reserve fund under a programme to provide communities with mobile power generation. The announcement covers a total of 31 generators for Kyiv and communities in other regions.

The generator transfer is still to come, and the equipment must be installed and connected before it can supply backup power. Koretskyi urged local authorities to carry out this work as quickly as possible.
