Media report suspicion notice for 22-year-old Borshchahivka protester

Strana reported a new suspect following the events of November 2. The SBU had earlier announced the detention of a woman involved in blocking a National Guard bus.

A 22-year-old woman has been notified of suspicion of obstructing the lawful activities of Ukraine’s Armed Forces following a protest outside a National Guard unit’s location in Petropavlivska Borshchahivka, Kyiv region. Strana reported this on November 5, 2026, citing prosecutors. The clashes themselves occurred on November 2.

According to the investigators’ account relayed by the outlet, the woman took part in blocking the unit, urged others to overturn an official bus carrying service personnel and joined others in rocking it. These are allegations underlying a suspicion notice, not findings of guilt by a court.

The previous day, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) had officially announced the detention of a woman involved in the clashes who, it alleged, urged others to block and damage a National Guard bus. At that stage, notifying her of suspicion was still planned. That statement did not give her age, so these details do not conclusively establish that she is the 22-year-old mentioned in the report.

Separately, the SBU announced the detention of three alleged organisers and said they had been notified of suspicion. The service alleged that they planned to remove a National Guard serviceman from the temporary deployment site under the guise of providing emergency medical care. This is a separate episode: the announcement concerning three suspects does not mean the 22-year-old woman was among them.

On November 5, Kyiv regional police said they and the SBU had identified 130 people who might be connected to the events. Police assessed that 27 had actively participated in unlawful actions and another 24 had provoked confrontations. This is not the number of people notified of suspicion. Police also reported substantial damage to four official police vehicles and a National Guard bus.

Investigations concern more than the actions of protesters. The SBU also reported a separate State Bureau of Investigation case concerning possible abuse of authority or official powers by a military official. The circumstances of the events remain under investigation.
